Eleven years to be exact when I became frustrated with research, I can still remember the scene where I am presenting my undergraduate thesis very confident and full of energy because I knew my study and I have spent so many sleepless nights conceptualizing, analyzing, and organizing the whole manuscript. And when I’m done with my presentation, I have confidently defended my study and so I got the result “Accepted with minor revisions”. The remarks were good but to my surprise, when I opened my manuscript almost the whole part of my research need to be revised! How come it was a minor revision when all I have to do is to revise the whole manuscript? I was frustrated for I have EXPECTED more, but it turned out the other way around. So I packed my things and leave the plenary room and throw my manuscript in the corridor. From there I learned that it’s not what you know, but how you know the ESSENTIALS of everything.
