Gogyoshi is style of Japanese poem that consist of a title and five lines. Japanese Poet Tekkan Yosano published in 1910 the original form of Gogyoshi with specific syllable counts for each line but only few poets followed the Tekkan style. Some Japanese poets began writing modern Gogyoshi without syllabic restrictions but define with five lines. Since then, Gogyoshi is a free style Japanese poetic form with no syllabic restrictions, no specific line breaks or no rhyme scheme.
