Celebrating a Father’s Day globally is a norm that permeates appreciation for the mother and the children. A father, as it is widely referred, is “THE PILLAR" to the homes. He is supposed to be the head of the family. He is universally seen as loving, hardworking and a role model. Like the various religious scriptures enjoin, a father must be honoured.

The father, being the male parent of a child is an authoritative figure and his role shapes the lives of his children and his love for the Mother equally affects how the child relates when he builds his own. Besides the paternal bonds of a father to his children, the father may have a parental, legal, and social relationship with the child that carries with it certain rights and obligations. For these roles, it is worthwhile to celebrate the father.
