Comment: In the civil war and before it the slaves suffered alot. It was time for a system that lead the suffering slaves to freedom. Harriet Tubman thought so as well, she decided that she would lead the slaves to freedom through the Underground Railroad. This well organized system was very useful for many years and helped a lot of slaves escape from salvery into the north and freedom. White people and black free-men helped salves in their long journes to freedom, they assited them with food and shelter.
