TouchDrawing is done by rolling out non-toxic water mixable oil paint onto a smooth, nonabsorbent drawingboard. A sheet of paper is placed on top of the paint. Then I move my fingers on the paper. The pressure of my touch forms impression. I use translucent tissue paper so that I can watch the drawings emerge. When a drawing feels complete I go on to the next drawing so that a series of drawings results from a single TouchDrawing session. Each drawing is a stepping stone on an inner journey, a page in a story that describes who I am at this moment in time. I am experimenting with making books to share my TouchDrawings in a way that preserves this narrative quality and allows the viewer/reader a window into what I experience when I engage in my TouchDrawing practice.
