About Author
A native of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, William Ian Small grew up in the nearby town of Ravia and is a member of the Tishomingo High School Class of 2014. He plans to become a history teacher.
He was the class salutatorian for his eighth grade class at Ravia School in 2010; has earned a number of scholastic awards; and served as a delegate to the 2009 People-to-People Leadership Forum in Washington D.C. He has held memberships in the Smithsonian Institute and National Geographic Society, and enjoys bowling, shooting pool, golf, swimming, and listening to music... and, obviously, writing.
He is the son of John Allen Small, news editor and columnist for the Johnston County (OK) Capital-Democrat and a published author; and Melissa Anne Small, a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Tishomingo. He currently resides in Ravia with his parents; his older brother, Joshua, a photographer; and a house full of books and dogs.
