When Willie Bell runs away, everyone wonders why. She's got a good life, or so everyone thinks. Behind that plastic smile is a world of pain and loss, and the only one who knows has suddenly gone very, very quiet.
As Willie runs from her home into the wilderness, she comes across The Amazing Oliver, or an abandoned circus lion. When Oliver shows a strong connection to Willie, she takes the chance and lets him out. A friendship unlike any other unfolds.
Now it's just Willie and Oliver against the world. Until, that is, a huge reward is put up for Willie. She doesn't want to return, though, suddenly very accustomed to wild living. So Willie and Oliver run together.
