Dr. Ben Jammin' was born in Vallejo, CA but raised in Sacramento. His lifelong thirst for knowledge led him to Howard University in Washington, DC on a full academic scholarship where he majored in English, met and later married his wife Cornelia of Buffalo, NY. Upon graduating, Jammin' decided to use his English degree for more 'creative' means. Being an avid music lover of all genres, he has served as the lead vocalist and lyricist of many bands and musical groups—Jammin' performs everything from hip hop to heavy metal! After working years in jobs he describes as “unfulfilling” (News Anchor, Creative Director, Radio Personality and Customer Service Supervisor), he decided to try his hand at teaching-- a seemingly logical step considering his mother, retired from higher education, and his father, a public school administrator, have had careers in education his entire life!
