Born in Columbia, Tennessee, on July 1, 1994, Melissa Joy Bassett is currently a Varsity cheerleader at Giles County High school, where she is enrolled in the ninth grade. One of Bassett's poems was published in the 2005 edition of <u>Young American's Anthology of Poetry</u>. She was also named one of Who's Who of Middle School students in America.
