About Me |
For the better part of 30 years I worked in corrections. I began in the juvenile system and eventually move into adult corrections. When I retired, I was a Correctional Counselor. I was the Executive Director of a faith based non-profit organization for almost a year before having to resign due to health reasons. I presently am in charge of a Survival Skills program to youth at Elm Tree Baptist Church. I have been blessed to accomplish a variety of innovative programs during my work history. These included a speech program in which incarcerated youth traveled throughout the state of Oklahoma competing against regular high schools in speech competitions and producing two plays while working in a state prison where female staff and male inmates combined to make up the staff. The second play, Annie Get Your Gun, was taken on the road to other institutions.
