I remember the exact homework assignment that sparked a genuine love for genealogy research in my life..."Family History Week", a 7th grade project.

I was given one week to interview family members to find out my heritage and pen the results in a 10 page book report for a grade. Well, I gathered my portable cassette tape recorder with its hand-held microphone, paper, pencil and hit the family trail. I discovered with each family member there were humorous stories, defeats and a door leading to the distant past. I heard of people and places that would fuel my journey down the genealogical path...I have not turned back since.
