How to Purchase Gift Cards?

Bookemon Gift Cards are available for purchase by Bookemon members only. If you are not a Bookemon member currently, please register and sign up for an account before proceeding to purchase a gift card. Bookemon Gift Cards can be used for purchases of any books you can access at Bookemon. The Recipient needs to be a member before he/she can use the gift card.

It is easy to purchase gift card at Bookemon. Go to either the Bookemon Store at www.bookemon.com/bookstore, or go directly to the gift card page at www.bookemon.com/gift-cards.

Fill out the Purchase Entry Form as follows:

1. Choose an amount from $10 to $1000 (or choose Other Amount to enter your desired dollar amount between $10 and $1000)
2. Enter the recipient's email address.*
3. Enter the names (From: xxx & To: xxx) that will appear on the Gift Card.
4. Enter an optional message to be sent along with the Gift Card.
5. Specify a date for the card to be delivered via email to the recipient. You may enter a delivery date, up to six months from the date of purchase.

Once your purchase has completed, order confirmation and order completion emails will be sent to the email address registered to your Bookemon account. Your gift card will be sent to the recipient's email address at your designated delivery date. Each gift card purchase needs to be processed separately and check out one at a time. To purchase multiple gift cards, you will need to repeat the above purchasing process.

(*Note - Please make sure the gift card recipient email address is indeed correct. If the recipient has already registered as a Bookemon member, it is advisable to send to the email address registered to the Bookemon account of the recipient. The recipient however could change his/her email address of their Bookemon account using the Change Email address function under My Accounts. Or if they are not a Bookemon member yet, they can sign up for an account with the email address identical to the recipient email address on the card.)

No time limit and no fees for Gift Card

There is no fee associated with purchase of a gift card at Bookemon. In addition, there is no time limit on your gift card provided the use of it is in compliance with our gift card terms and conditions.

For Gift Card purchase - what to do if recipient didn't receive your gift card?

If the recipient has not received your gift card, it may require further actions by you, as the purchaser.

1. Spam email filtering - In certain cases where the recipient has installed a very strict email filtering system, you will need to ask the recipient to look into their spam email folder to verify if the gift card email has not been mistaken as spam emails. If so, they can retrieve their gift card there. If not, then you can forward the gift card order completion email you have received earlier to them instead. Alternatively, you can resend to the recipient the gift card using the "resend gift card" function found under "My Orders".
2. Delivery date not set properly - Please make sure the delivery date as you have specified has been entered into correctly. If not, you will need to notify Bookemon support group at support@bookemon.com to correct the delivery date; you won't be able to change it yourself.
3. Incorrect email address - Please verify that the email address you have entered into during gift card purchase is the proper address for the recipient.

For gift card recipients, how do you redeem/use gift card you received?

First, gift card recipient will have to be a Bookemon member before gift card sent to him/her can be used to purchase books online. In addition, the email address registered to the Bookemon account of the recipient will have to match exactly that of the email address where the gift card has been sent.

If you are a Bookemon member and the email address matches that of the gift card, you can redeem gift card(s) sent to you in one of two ways. 1. Go to the My Gift Card page under My Account of your myHome page. Click on the Redeem Gift Card link and enter the Gift Code that was sent to you in the gift card email. 2. After you have selected the items you would like to purchase, proceed to checkout. During the Payment Information step of the checkout process, you will be able to redeem a new gift card that has been sent to you by entering the Gift Code.

Once the gift card has been redeemed, you will be able to apply the gift card to your purchases at Bookemon during checkout.

For gift card recipients - checking your gift card balance

Your gift card balance can be viewed on the My Gift Card page under My Account. Click on View Balance next to the gift card you wish to check on its balance.

Gift Card Terms and Conditions

Redemption.

Gift Cards can only be redeemed on www.bookemon.com toward the purchase of products available at the site. Purchases are deducted from the Gift Card balance. Any unused balance will be placed in the recipient's Gift Card account when redeemed. If an order exceeds the amount of the Gift Card, the balance must be paid with a credit card.

Limitations.

Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other gift cards. Gift Cards cannot be resold, transferred for value, redeemed for cash or applied to any other account, except to the extent required by law. Unused Gift Card balances in a Bookemon account may not be transferred.

Risk of Loss.

The risk of loss and title for Gift Cards pass to the purchaser upon our electronic transmission to the purchaser, recipient or delivery to the carrier, whichever is applicable. We are not responsible if a Gift Card is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without your permission.

Fraud.

Bookemon will have the right to close customer accounts and bill alternative forms of payment if a fraudulently obtained Gift Card is redeemed and/or used to make purchases on www.bookemon.com.

Limitation of Liability.

BOOKEMON INC. USA. ("Bookemon") AND ITS AFFILIATES MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO GIFT CARDS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN THE EVENT A GIFT CARD CODE IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND OUR SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH GIFT CARD. CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MIGHT HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.

Disputes

Any dispute relating in any way to bookemon Gift Cards in which the aggregate total claim for relief sought on behalf of one or more parties exceeds $7,500 shall be adjudicated in any state or federal court in Santa Clara County, California, and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in such courts.
